NFCC IS IN NEED OF BACK TO SCHOOL DONATIONS

Roswell, GA (July 19, 2010) It’s that time of year again when children are gearing up for school and returning back to the classroom. For some parents, this can cause tremendous stress and one more added expense in an already stretched budget. North Fulton Community Charities is combating this problem once again by providing low income students in the North Fulton community with brand new backpacks and school supplies.

NFCC is hosting their Annual Back to School Fair, Saturday, August 21, 2010. In addition, to school supplies, this event will provide face painting, health screenings, clowns, magicians, food and fun to be had by all.

“We believe that every child should be able to get on the bus or walk in the classroom with the same basic necessities as their classmates,” says Karen Rupp, Volunteer Coordinator. “It is so important that a child feels included and when they do not have the proper supplies, it makes them feel left out and it is more of a challenge to succeed in school. We appreciate all of the ongoing support for this program. Without our friends and neighbors in North Fulton we could not continue to assist these children.”

In 2009, NFCC provided 1400 children with backpacks. With the troubled economy, this year those numbers will increase. So, we are reaching out to the community asking for donations to support these families in need.
