Urgent: Food Pantry In Need of Donations
At NFCC this summer over 100 families request food assistance every day. Early in the summer our Pantry shelves were overflowing and we were able to give a good assortment of non-perishable food to those in need. The demand for food and services has remained high all summer but donations have slowed down. We supplement our food distributions with recovered food from restaurants and grocery stores and produce donated by back yard gardeners. However, our supplies of staple, canned and boxed food are now getting very low. The shelves will soon be totally bare if donations don’t increase soon.
As always, we thank you for your support and encouragement. Even in the face of the continued recession our community has been very generous and responsive to our appeals for funds and food to keep local families from being evicted or hungry.
