NFCC’s Golf Tournament Swings Success
NFCC geared up for golf at the 2012 4th Annual Swing into Action Golf Tournament on July 23, 2012 at The Country Club of the South. The event’s success exceeded expectations and raised over $75,000 for NFCC’s Emergency Financial Assistance Program. NFCC’s mission is to build self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness and hunger in our community by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs. By offering core services such as food, rental and utility assistance, clothing, enrichment programs, and other basic services, NFCC assisted over 5,000 families and provided $1.2 million in financial assistance in 2011.
This sold out event was attended by 144 golfers who enjoyed a day of great fun on a beautiful and challenging course. The day also included breakfast and lunch, a variety of skill competitions and a host of raffle prizes. In addition, the tournament featured the Faith Based Challenge, which was won for the fourth year, by Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. This year’s tournament winners were:
1st Place: Alpharetta First UMC (Don Martin, Ted Shields, Scott Shields, and Wayne Monroe)
2nd Place: The Georgia Golf Center (George Lovatt, Mark Lupien, Leslie Elkins, and Eric Smith)
3rd Place: Northside Hospital (Freda Hardage, Cody Hardage, Hayden Poole, and Patricia Randolph)
Team Putting Contest: Windham Brannon
Longest Drive Winners: Ryan Irvine & Liam Shinn
Closest to the Hole: Gary Marotta-Toyota South
