Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to North Fulton Community Charities. Our small staff depends on volunteers to carry out our mission of providing emergency assistance to residents of North Fulton.
We welcome men, women and teens ages 13 years and older who are interested in volunteering on a regular or drop in basis. Teens age 13-15 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Come visit us for a tour of our facility and to find out ways you can get involved at NFCC. To schedule a visit or for additional information contact Karen Rupp.
Group Volunteer Opportunities
Here at North Fulton Community Charities opportunities are abundant for group volunteering. No matter the size of your group, small or large, we can use your help! Consider having your group spend time together serving the community in which we live by volunteering at NFCC. This can also be a great team building experience! The following is a list of some ways your group may become involved in volunteering at North Fulton Community Charities.
Fund Raising: We encourage groups to sponsor fund raising events to benefit North Fulton Community Charities. Proceeds from these events will be used to assist families with basic needs. For fund raising ideas please contact us.
Food Drives: Our Food Pantry is stocked entirely by donations. Holding a food drive to benefit the Food Pantry is a great group project. From week to week the needs of our pantry change. We encourage those planning a food drive to contact us first for a list of the most needed items at that time. We can also provide helpful guidelines for packaging the food and arranging delivery or pick-up of food collected. Collection of grocery store gift certificates is also beneficial to the families we serve at NFCC.
Collections for the Thrift Shop: Groups may hold drives to collect clothing, household items, books, toys and furniture for the Thrift Shop. All donations should be clean and in good condition.
On-Site Projects:
Groups are always welcome and often needed to work on-site at our facility. Projects may include:
- Sorting Food for the Food Pantry
- Sorting donations in the Thrift Shop
- Landscaping and outdoor clean up
- Spring cleaning
- Painting
- Other small odd jobs
Off-Site Projects: Occasionally we have a need for volunteer groups to assist senior citizens in our community with home repairs and yard work. These need to be arranged in advance.
Special Programs: During the course of the year, NFCC has the following special programs that provide volunteer opportunities:
Easter Baskets, Back to School, Warm Coat Day, and Holiday Program.
Specific information concerning each of these will be available prior to the date each program.
We would love to speak to your group, give a tour of our facility and/or provide additional information on ways your group can participate in these activities. To arrange this contact Karen Rupp.
