Children 13-15 are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer at NFCC with a parent. If a child is under the age of 13, NFCC offers other opportunities to help our community and understand the importance of giving. Listed below are some ideas to support North Fulton Community Charities:

Food Drive Themes:

“Can Do” Attitude
I “Can” Say No – Red Ribbon Week
Trick or “Can” – Halloween week
It’s “Uncanny” – Non-canned food (bagged or boxed items)
Pasta Patrol – Macaroni and cheese, noodles of all sorts
Boxes for Breakfast – Cereal, pop-tarts, granola or grain bars
Battle of the Boxes – Class challenge food drive collecting box foods
Souper Bowl – January food drive for canned soup
Fruity Friday – Can fruit collection
Pop-in Party – Pop top cans of food for homeless
Snack Time: Granola Bars, Raisins, Nuts (healthy based snacks)

Scavenger Hunts:

Encourage your friends to become creative and hunt for items to fill bags for the homeless:
1. Food Bags: Bottle of water, plastic utensils, napkins, wet wipes, pop top cans of Vienna sausage or tuna,  granola bar, fruit cup, individual packs of crackers, Goldfish, cookies, etc

2. Toiletry Bag: travel size items including toothpaste, toothbrush, bar of soap, shampoo and conditioner, comb, disposable razor, etc.

Chores for Charity:

Clean out your drawers and closet – donate to NFCC Thrift Shop
Earn $ doing odd jobs around the house – donate proceeds to NFCC
Lemonade Stand or Bake Sale-donate proceeds to NFCC or purchase items for the NFCC Food Pantry

Themed Collections:

Toilet Tree: Place a tree in lobby and collect travel or full sized toiletries
Baby Shower: Diapers, wipes, baby food, formula, baby toiletries
Paper Route: Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins and kleenex
Hearts and Soles: Gather gently used shoes for Valentine Project
Back to School “Blues”: Denim clothing  collection May – August
Community Garden: Grow vegetables/fruit for Environmental Club – Plant a row for the Hungry
Pennies from Heaven: Collect pennies, turn into dollars – donate to NFCC or shop for food
Gift Card Collection: Collect grocery store gift cards
Birthday Boxes: Cake mix, Icing, Paper Goods & Favors, Candles, etc.
Bean Bags: Purchase large bag of  dry beans and divide into 1 lb. increments of beans and place in quartz size bags.
Mother’s & Father’s Day Boxes: Shoes boxes filled with toiletries, socks, comb, brush, etc.
