How we Help Our Community
Bilingual services (Spanish/English) are available to access our programs at NFCC. If referrals are needed, NFCC provides resources through our partnerships with other nonprofits and service providers.
Emergency Financial Assistance:
NFCC provides direct aid for rent, utilities, medical, transportation and other basic needs on an emergency basis. Click here to make an appointment.
Asistencia Financiera de Emergencia:
NFCC ofrece ayuda directa para la renta, servicios públicos (agua, gas, electricidad), servicios médicos, transporte y otras necesidades básicas en situaciones de emergencia. Haga clic aquí para hacer una cita.
NFCC Mobile Outreach:
We are now offering a Mobile Outreach Service, by appointment only, to assist local families with gaining access to emergency financial assistance.
NFCC distributes non-perishable and donated food along with recovered bread, bakery, produce and other fresh or frozen items. Staple goods including toiletries, paper goods and cleaning products may also be available.
NFCC’s on-site Thrift Shop offers donated clothing, household goods and furniture for sale at bargain prices. Families qualified for NFCC assistance receive a monthly clothing allowance.
Family Enrichment Program:
NFCC helps families move toward financial stability and self-sufficiency by offering free classes and workshops in money management, job readiness, health and wellness, and life skills training. Classes are open to clients of NFCC, and our community space permitting. On-site Child care is provided at no cost to participants for some classes. Click here for current schedule of classes.
Computer Lab Services:
Computer Lab services are available in our Education Center from 1:00pm – 4:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Opportunities to print, fax, create resume, and job search are available. No children are allowed.
VITA Tax Program:
Free tax preparation is available by IRS trained volunteers if you earned less than $53,000 last year. Offered only during tax season.
Government Benefits Screening:
See if you qualify and access benefits you may be eligible for, but not receiving. Government benefits include Food Stamps, Medicaid, WIC, and Subsidized Child Care.
ACA Healthcare Marketplace Screening:
Government trained and certified volunteers assist individuals looking for health coverage options and screening for health insurance. Offered only during Healthcare Open Enrollment periods.
Seasonal Programs are asset protecting programs offered annually to support our goal of building self-sufficiency in our community. School Supplies, Health Fairs, Winter coats and outerwear, Thanksgiving groceries, and Holiday Assistance programs in December.
