FAQs

Students can sign up to work in childcare and thrift/food pantry.  In childcare, you’ll assist our childcare attendant caring for children while parents are attending classes. In the thrift shop/pantry, you could be sorting donations, counting goods, stocking shelves and general help like moving items, cleaning etc. 

waiver signed by your parents for all students under 18 years of age. You may bring a water bottle and a snack. Please leave valuables at home as we don’t have secure storage for your belongings.

If you are volunteering in childcare, please go to 11275 Elkins Road, and let the front desk know you are there to help with childcare. If you are volunteering in our Thrift Shop or Food Pantry, please go to 11270 Elkins Road. For Thrift, enter through the front door and ask for a manager at the register.  For food pantry, enter through the food pantry and check in at the desk.  

No, all volunteers must be scheduled ahead of time.

For an official letter confirming student volunteer dates and times, please email Vipal Sharma ([email protected]) following the completion of scheduled hours. Please allow 7-10 business days.

If you need a form signed while volunteering, ask a manager on site to sign it.

Yes! You don’t get a discount, but everything is well-priced. Please have a manager price your items and walk you to the register.

Please never give out your personal information while here and never give a ride to anyone you don’t know.

Hours are not valid for court-related community service through Volunteer Services.  For court-related, please complete this form.
