Monday – Friday: 9:30am-12:00pm or 1:30-4:00pm

Saturday: 11:00am-1:00pm. (maximum of 10 volunteers)

There are no evening hours available at this time.

We can most comfortably accommodate up to 20 group volunteers Monday-Friday, and 10 group volunteers on Saturday. The minimum is four.

We ask our groups to be flexible, but some likely tasks are receiving and sorting donations, counting goods, stocking shelves and general help like moving items, cleaning etc. You may be asked to lift or move heavy items, but you may turn down any task with which you are uncomfortable. You may be outside. You will not be working with our clients.

This waiver is required for every person coming. Waiver is required ONCE every calendar year. Everyone in your group should bring a signed hard copy with them when they come. Please do not bring valuables or large purses/backpacks. We have a limited number of small lockers available, but we prefer that you lock valuables out of sight in your car.  We cannot be responsible for your personal items. We will try to provide water bottles and a snack, but you may also bring your own.

Closed-toed shoes are a must! Wear comfortable, modest clothing. You may get a little bit dirty, so plan accordingly. We have gloves if you ask for them.

Please carpool! We do not have enough parking for groups over 10 unless they carpool. Our clients, customers and staff use a majority of the spaces. Large groups tend to drop their cars at a safe location and ride together.

Enter the door by the “Office” sign on the left side of our building. The Director of Volunteers will meet you right in the hall beside the door marked “STOP Employees only” or you can ask for Darlene at the desk. You do not need to wait in line. We ask that groups of 15 or more wait outside if possible, weather permitting. Please be mindful of clients and do not block the entrance.

Please enter the Thrift Store Door and tell the Officer at the Desk you are here as a “group volunteer.” A staff member will be expecting you and will conduct your tour and put you to work. Please be mindful of customers and do not block the door.

Due to the large number of people in the building and limited space, it is difficult for us to wait for late arrivals. One of our staff will provide a brief tour and an overview of NFCC before you receive instructions and meet the supervisor for your activity.

No, please do not bring extra people. We cannot take any children under the age of 13 under any circumstance. This includes infants in carriers.

No one under the age of 13 may volunteer with us under any circumstance.  Teens 13-15 year olds may volunteer with a parent or adult representative present at all times. Teens 16 and older may volunteer alone, with a parent signature on our waiver. High school student groups need to be chaperoned with 1 adult, per 4 students, and a max of 10 people total.  We do not allow middle school groups. This has changed from our past policy.

If your group wants to bring a donated item please consider bringing a full sized toiletry item (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, shaving cream, body wash, etc.) We always appreciate donations!

Yes! We love our groups to shop after their shift. You don’t get a discount, but everything is well-priced.
