NFCC is Growing! Plans Underway for a Satellite Pantry and Garden in East Roswell

NFCC recently announced plans to open a satellite pantry in East Roswell, helping reduce food insecurity in the area by providing residents in need with access to free, nutritious food.  The East Roswell community includes many families who are experiencing hunger and struggling to make ends meet. Often, these families lack reliable transportation, which makes visiting NFCC’s main location difficult.

“This satellite pantry is the first step towards NFCC’s long-range strategic plan to expand its reach throughout its service area,” says Sandy Holiday, NFCC President. “NFCC has seen two consecutive years of double-digit growth in demand for its services. We are committed to partnering with our faith community to establish multiple NFCC locations so NFCC will be more accessible to neighbors who need us most.”

To supply the new pantry with fresh produce, the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership North Fulton class is building a pantry garden.  The new pantry and garden will be situated on the Bridge to Grace Covenant Church property in Roswell.

The new garden and pantry will be located on the Bridge to Grace Church property

Construction on the garden will be completed by the end of May 2025, and the food pantry is scheduled to open by Fall 2025.

“When choosing its community project, this year’s Leadership North Fulton class set out to tackle the issue of food insecurity in the North Fulton community,” says Marten Jallad, VP of Operations, NFCC. “By planting a pantry garden, the Leadership North Fulton class is providing fresh produce, an essential for a healthy diet, for our neighbors in need.”

Located on the Bridge to Grace Church’s property at 2385 Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell, the pantry will be constructed using a cost-efficient, prefabricated building.  Space in the church’s main building will be used for case management services, check-in and food orders. The new pantry will use the same “Smart Choice” technology used at NFCC’s main location, which offers participants dignity and choice to select food their families prefer. The pantry will be open two days a week and staffed primarily by volunteers with additional service days added in the future.
