NFCC Expands Workforce Development Program with Workshops

In 2022, NFCC launched a Workforce Development program to help our clients improve their financial stability by establishing and working toward career and financial goals. Initially, the program focused on one-on-one coaching sessions. This year, we expanded the program to include workshops led by industry experts on a variety of career and finance-focused topics.

Christina Drake joined NFCC as our Workforce Development Coordinator in October, and she’s excited about growing our workshop offerings in 2024.

“NFCC workshops are opportunities for participants to learn new skills as well as the chance to network with other job seekers which is essential for building connections and accessing job opportunities,” says Christina. “Our goal and hope is that we can expand our client’s knowledge base, inspire them with new ideas and give them some tools that may help boost their earning potential, financial stability and future employability.”

Workshops feature volunteer speakers with backgrounds in a various industries, bringing a wealth of firsthand knowledge and experience. Topics have included job interviews and job searching, personal finance and budget and LinkedIn tips. The sessions often include activities that encourage goal setting and self-reflection, allowing the participants to gain insight into their strengths, interests and values.

For 2024, we have scheduled a variety of workshops sure to be valuable and engaging to participants.

The line-up includes:

Credit Basics and Predatory Lending

Introduction to LinkedIn
